Introduction to Resources
Laminaria japonica is of kelp genus, kelp family and Phaeophyta kingdom. It’s shaped like a long and flat Gametophytic blade, brown in color. Two longitudinal furrows run across the middle of the leaves, shaping a middle zone. Generally speaking, it is 2 to 6m long, 15 to 45cm wide, a nutritious large edible alga. Laminaria japonica is naturally dispersed in sea area with high altitude, a cold water alga, with the water temperature most suitable for growth being 0 to 13 ℃. It stops growing at over 20 ℃. Living 3 to 5m under water, laminaria japonica has rich nutritional value, containing active substance such as kelp polysaccharide, mannitol, betaine, and vitamin; mineral elements such as organic iodine, calcium, iron and zinc. It has wide application in industries such as agriculture, industry and food.
